About Georgian American University (GAU)
Georgian American University (GAU) was established in 2001 in the heart of Tbilisi, Georgia. Originally founded as an MBA institution, it later expanded to offer a wide range of disciplines — with the Faculty of Medicine established in 2017 — focused on body systems, research-based practical work and case-based learning, focused on systems-based learning, research-based practical work, problem-solving curriculum, and early clinical exposure. GAU is accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia since 2014.
The university is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), India, the World Health Organization (WHO), WFME, FAIMER, and ECFMG — making its MBBS degree valid for FMGE/NEXT (India), USMLE (USA), PLAB (UK) and medical practice across the world.
