About Symbiosis Medical College for Women
Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW) was established in 2020 — India's first all-women medical college — under the vision of Prof. Dr. S.B. Mujumdar, Founder & Chancellor of Symbiosis International (Deemed University). Inspired by the biography of India's first lady doctor Ms. Anandibai Joshi, the college was created with the mission of women's empowerment and increasing the number of female doctors in India.
Located on the stunning 350-acre Lavale Hills campus of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, SMCW is a fully residential medical college. It is affiliated with Symbiosis International (Deemed University) — a NAAC A++ accredited institution — and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

- MBBS programme is exclusively for female candidates only
- Completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English as main subjects
- Minimum 50% aggregate marks in PCB (40% for reserved categories as per NMC)
- NEET-UG qualification is mandatory — admission strictly based on NEET merit
- Admission via MCC Deemed University Counselling — 127 General + 23 NRI seats
- Minimum age of 17 years by December 31 of the admission year
